These trips will take place on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th March, with GLM going to Somerset College on the Wednesday and The Eden Project on the Thursday, and RWY going to The Eden Project on the Wednesday and Somerset College on the Thursday.
In the next two weeks all Year 8 pupils will be involved in fundraising for the trip, which will help us to reduce the cost to each pupil to just £3! They will be making muffins and selling them at break time - if you would like to put your order in with your son/ daughter, please do (50p a muffin)!
Please will you ensure the consent form is returned to the Finance Office by Monday 15th March, along with the £3 contribution.
Further information will be sent home, with pupils, on Friday 19th March with exact details of the day, as well as information about the morning to be spent at Somerset College.
Any queries please contact Mrs Fishlock.
8. Sport Relief Day Friday 19 March 2010.
This year we are taking part in Sport Relief and will be selling the Sport Relief socks for £2.00. Students will have the opportunity to wear something red on Sport Relief day for a donation of 50p.
9. House Language Competition.
We would like to invite you to the Modern Foreign Language department’s House Languages competition, which makes its debut on 15th March at 6:30pm. It will be held in the main hall. Each house has been given 10 minutes to interpret a given theme through singing and acting in as many foreign languages as they can, whilst making it easy to understand for the audience – not an easy task, although our Year 11 House Languages captains have certainly risen to the challenge! This event has given the students the opportunity to showcase the languages that they have learnt in school or speak natively, so we hope that you can come and celebrate the cultures that make up our school. There are no tickets for this event but are suggesting a £1 donation and very much look forward to seeing you there.
10. Year 10 Reports.
Reports will be issued to Year 10 students on Wednesday 10 March 2010. An invitation to the subject teacher consultation evening will be issued with the reports. This evening, which is very important at such a key stage, is one which I hope all families and students in Year 10 will attend.
11. Year 10 Parents Evening
There will be a Year 10 subject teacher consultation evening for parents and carers on Tuesday 17 March 2010 starting at 5.30pm.
