The KS3 Healthy Lifestyles activity and study based course is linked and funded through our Sports College specialism.
All year 7s are involved in a “Junk Food Roadshow” as part of a timetable crash day which informs students about healthy eating. The Department also works with the Health Service to teach students about healthy living. In year 9 all students spend a “health day” at Somerset College.
The Department is the co-ordinator and trainer for the Food Partnership & Healthy Schools Project which involves all local feeder primary schools.
All students are encouraged to take part in the inter-House cooking competitions.
The Department works in conjunction with Sainsbury's as part of the KS3 Active Kids “Get Cooking” initiative.
The Rotary International Cookery competition is hosted by the Castle School each autumn.
(Students)......fully understand how to keep safe, healthy and fit.
