The school has six computer suites distributed around the school buildings, together with smaller clusters of computers in a wide variety of areas around the school. Microsoft Office 2007 software is available on all computers, along with software such as Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop and others.
As well as benefiting from ICT usage in virtually every subject area, all students in years 7 and 8 receive the equivalent of one hour per week taught ICT. In year 9 this rises to the equivalent of 1.5 hours, and in years 10 and 11 either 2.5 or 5 hours per week depending on option choice.
Our Key Stage 4 ICT courses begin in year 9. Our students follow the OCR Nationals in ICT Course which leads to the award of the equivalent of up to four GCSEs in ICT. This course has proved hugely popular nationally and has been adopted by a very large number of schools.
In addition to our hardware and software provision, the Fronter Learning Platform offers learning resources to all our students. Each student in the school is given a log-in to this which can be shared with their parents or carers.
.......information and communication technology is now an area of strength.
