Our outdoor facilities include a 3rd Generation All Weather Pitch (AWP) football pitch. This is a community use facility which can also be used for hockey and 5-a-side football. Surrounding the AWP is a 400m running track with purpose built javelin, discus, long jump, high jump and discus areas. All this is floodlit . The grass area includes a cricket square, cricket nets and pavilion, a full size rugby pitch and a football area. There are also four floodlit netball courts, 4 tennis courts as well as a hard area basketball courts.
Early in 1998 work was completed on the £1 million community leisure complex. This includes a sports hall, extended and refurbished changing facilities, fitness studio and multi-activity area.
The facilities at the school are used extensively by the students, and the local community and since the leisure complex has been completed usage has dramatically increased.
Young apprenticeships in sports areas, the development of diplomas and other challenges form the focus of exciting new curriculum developments which are enthusing staff and many students alike.
