Who are we? What do we do? Will we help your child? Why do we need you? What do we mean to you?

We are all parents, just like you and you are most welcome at meetings to gather information and participate. We have a committee made up of 4 officers: Chair - currently Mrs Julie Watson, Vice-Chair – currently Mrs Sarah Giles, Treasurer – currently Mrs Caroline Lewis and Head Teacher and up to 12 voting members. New and incumbent members are elected each year at the AGM held in October. We usually hold one or two meetings a term, which are very informal and you do not need to be a committee member to come along. Mrs Rogers – a school staff member - acts as the Friends' Secretary and can be contacted at the school to provide or pass on information to the Friends Committee. We are always looking for more parents to join the committee.

We organise and run (with the help of many volunteers, school staff and Mr Freedman) events and functions to raise funds for the school for the benefit of all the children.

Recently, our funds have bought the electronic notice boards and the furniture in the covered courtyard.

50/50 Club

For just £10 a year you can join our 50/50 Club. Each month (except July and August) there is a draw with various monetary prizes amounting to 50% of the total fund. The winners are published in the school bulletin and prizes are sent via the post. The remaining 50% of the fund goes to the Friends to provide extra funding to enhance the school environment. Please contact Mrs Ros Rogers at the school for further information.

School Fund Contribution

The Friends would like to ask families in the school for an annual voluntary contribution (suggested amount £10) to the "School Fund". If you would like to contribute the this Fund, please send your donation in an envelope to Mrs Ros Rogers at the School. (Cheques made payable to "The Friends of the Castle School" please.)
